Johnnie B. "John" Isaacs, 81, of Berea, widower of Kathleen "Kat" Rogers Isaacs, passed away Sunday afternoon, January 4, 2015 at the Compassionate Care Center in Richmond. Mr. Isaacs was born on May 7, 1933 in Jackson County, the son of the late Shelly and Linda Creech Isaacs. He was a retired farmer and trader and was a member of the 1016 Holiness Church in Berea. Survivors include his son, Johnnie Michael "Mike" Isaacs (Sharon); two brothers: Bert Isaacs and Hershell Isaacs (Iva); one sister: Janet Powell (Dennis); five grandchildren: Mike Isaacs, B.J. Isaacs, Melissa Powell, Jason Brockman and Keith Brockman; his caregivers: Rachel Hill and Nancy McMaine as well as several great-grandchildren and other relatives. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death his son: William Lee Isaacs; three brothers: Homer, Turner and Boyd Isaacs; three sisters: Christine Abner, Lorrain Isaacs and Shelby Jean Combs. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 AM Wednesday, January 7, 2015 at the Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home with Bro. Jay Davis and Bro. Owen Moody officiating. Burial will follow at Madison Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 5-9 PM Tuesday evening at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be: Mike Isaacs, B.J. Isaacs, Jason Brockman, Keith Brockman, Danny Joe Layton and Paul Thomas. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Dennis Powell, Harry Isaacs, Robert Hill, L.D. Hill, Tim Isaacs, Chris Powell, Dan Ratliff, Jim Reece and L.J. Thomas Jr. The family would like to thank the entire staff of the Hospice Compassionate Care Center for the care, love and kindness shown to John and family.
