Joe H. Hensley, 80, of Richmond, the widower of Mary Lee Green Hensley, passed away Thursday night, February 12, 2015, at Baptist Health-Richmond.
Joe was born on January 2, 1935, the son of the late Roy and Mary Carr Hensley. He was a retired employee of The IBM Corporation as well as Eastern Kentucky University. Joe was a member of the Red House Baptist Church and was a fifty-year member and Past Master of The Richmond Masonic Lodge #25 F&AM.
Survivors include his three children: Randy Hensley (Kelly) of Berea, Brenda Frazier (Neal) of Lexington and Mary Elaine Hensley of Irmo, South Carolina; two grandchildren: Dustin "The Fish" Hensley and Joseph Hensley; one sister: Louise Hensley; his brothers and sisters-in-law: Orline Hensley, Ora Mae and James Pryse, Bettie Lou and Billy Ray Winkler and Patty Jo Cornelison as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his wife and parents he was preceded in death by two sisters: Rena Belle Rose and Freda Sweazy and one brother: Glyn Hensley.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, February 20, 2015, at the Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home with Bro. Gary Maynard officiating. Burial will follow at Madison Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be from 5-8 PM Thursday evening at the funeral home. Masonic Rites will follow beginning at 8PM.
Pallbearers will be: Danny Cline, Pearl Cowan, Mike Coyle, Billy Pryse, Donnie Winkler and Robert Childress.
Honorary Pallbearers will be: Neil Parke, Parrish Johnson, Jerry Hayes and Cecil "Dude" Cochran.
