Jerome Curry

May 23, 1939 ~ February 18, 2015 (age 75)


Jerome Wesley Curry, 75, husband of Carolyn Sue Hopkins Curry, died on Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at the Willows at Hamburg, in Lexington, Kentucky.

Jerome was born on May 23, 1939 in Madison County to Arthur Bailey and Etta Marie Ross Curry, both of whom preceded him in death. He worked at Lexmark (IBM) for over 30 years and retired in 2001. He also worked at Westinghouse for 5 years and was a part-time farmer. Jerome was active with Builders for Christ and the Gideon's International - Richmond Camp. He was a member of the Antioch Christian Church on Tates Creek Road for 48 years where he served in several capacities including, secretary, treasurer, Elder, song leader and Sunday school teacher.

Survivors include his wife, of 52 years, Carolyn Sue Hopkins Curry; one son Chris Curry (Tammy) of Finchville, KY; one daughter, Jennifer Curry Smith (David) of Lexington, KY; three sisters, Joyce Middleton (Johnny); Joan Estes (Mason) and Janice Long (Don) all of Richmond, KY; five grandchildren, Carl Bowser, Ben Smith, Jessica Curry, Alex Curry and Katie Smith; two great grandchildren, Eli Kendall Bowser, Lily Rose Bowser; four nephews, Jeff Middleton, Jerel Middleton, John Estes and Josh Long.

Funeral services for Jerome will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 21, 2015 at the Oldham, Roberts & Powell Funeral Home with Bro. James Hardin and Bro. John Davis officiating the services. Burial will be in the Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday at Oldham, Roberts & Powell Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Jeff Middleton, Jerel Middleton, John Estes, Josh Long, Carl Bowser, Ben Smith, Alex Curry and Eli Bowser. Honorary pallbearers will be the men of Antioch Christian Church, men of Richmond Gideon Camp and Cameron Cannon.
