Robert "Bob" Lee Davenport, 79, of Richmond, died on Saturday, February 14, 2015 in Richmond, Kentucky. Bob was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother. He was blessed to spend his life doing what he loved: painting and playing music. He spent his younger years as a drummer playing old time rock-n-roll and country and loved the sound of Johnny Cash playing on the radio. He also worked as an artist, creating beautiful paintings that the family will cherish and remember him by.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Davenport and his son, Bobby Davenport and his wife Donna all of Richmond, KY; He was preceded in death by his younger daughter, Michelle Hinkle. He is also survived by his sister, Virginia Kern of Indianapolis, Indiana.
Bob is survived by four beautiful granddaughters, Brittany Hoskins and her husband Shannon of Shelbyville, KY; Ashley Hinkle and her fiancé Richie Snow, Heather Hall and her husband Chris and Halle "Beth" Davenport all of Richmond, KY.
He was also preceded in death by his parents Carlos R. and Annie Mae Davenport; and brothers Billy Davenport and Carl Davenport and his sister, Marjorie Green.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at the Oldham, Roberts & Powell Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Oldham, Roberts & Powell Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Donnie Hacker, Freddie Burns, Jimmy Keen, Michael Roberts, Robert Curry and David Blair.
